At Danucem, we are focused on innovations that promote sustainability and a responsible approach to construction. We are pleased to introduce COBION – a revolutionary new low-carbon concrete that is more than just a building material, it is the solution to reducing the overall carbon footprint in construction that fully adapts to the requirements of modern times and sustainable decision making.

Low-carbon concrete – a step towards a better future
COBION is a low-carbon concrete that represents a significant step in reducing CO₂ emissions in the construction sector. The product is designed to meet high demands for quality and durability, making it an ideal solution for projects that emphasize sustainability.
According to a survey by Kantar Slovakia, up to 45% of Slovaks consider energy efficiency and sustainable building materials to be key factors when choosing a place to live. COBION responds to these trends by offering a product that takes the lead in responsible decision making.

Introducing COBION
The first step in the new low-carbon construction era was an event in Bratislava’s Janko Kráľ Park, where we had the opportunity to introduce COBION to our customers, partners, the media and construction experts. This event proved to be a superb opportunity to discuss the benefits and applications of sustainable building solutions in practice.

The product release took place amongst a professional and inspiring atmosphere, combining skilled presentations, discussions and engagement by the attendees themselves, including representatives from architectural firms, developers, construction companies, the media and professional associations.
Moderator Babsy Jagušák Heribanová hosted the program, calling on participants via the SLIDO platform to engage with the topic, which means sustainability in construction for companies. Talks by Judita Jančíková (Operations Manager for Concrete, Danucem Slovakia) and Mikuláš Šandorčin (Logistics and Project Manager for Concrete, Danucem Slovakia) followed a presentation on COBION low-carbon concrete, highlighting the technology, benefits and applications. A panel discussion was next, involving experts from the field of architecture Oľga Miháliková, Chair of the European Network of Architects’ Competent Authorities – ENACA, Chief Executive Officer at the Office of the Slovak Chamber of Architects and Secretary of the Institute of the Slovak Chamber of Architects, Barbara Plachá, Executive Director of the Slovak Green Building Council, Director of Construction of the developer Corwin, Dana Barátová and Fedja Rojnik, Director of Concrete and Precast Business at Danucem Slovakia. The panel agreed that sustainability significantly increases the overall value of projects. After the discussion, Miron Thoms from Renault Trucks Europe presented trends in electromobility and the decarbonisation of logistics, which represents yet another area for development of sustainability in construction.
